This new school has two nursery classrooms, six infant classrooms and eight junior classrooms, plus a hydrotherapy pool with associated changing rooms. The design of the layout and services allows the pool to be used independently from the school, by the wider community, if desired.

The Pupils attending the school have a wide range of physical and behavioural difficulties and the facilities provide for these, with enhanced provision of toilet and hygiene areas, plus a range of small rooms leading off the class blocks for distraction from work.

The building is of steel framed construction with a steel roof structure covered with curved aluminum standing seam roofing.

The roof plan and shape is designed to create outdoor covered teaching spaces adjacent to each classroom. Roof lights positioned at important points along the internal corridors help users to orientate themselves, and combined with floor features, can be used to give distinct identities to each part of the school.
